Logan is back, stronger than ever! Meanwhile, Quicksilver has found out that Magneto is his father.
About 2 weeks earlier at CinemaCon in Los Angeles, 20th Century Fox revealed the new trailers of X-Men: Apocalypse, Independence Day: Resurgence, Assassin’s Creed and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. However, not until now they officially release those trailers to their international fans. Fox unveiled the final X-Men: Apocalypse trailer which includes a slew of new footage, including the tease of the return of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman).
Beside some old scenes introducing the origin of Apocalypse as well as showing the destruction he brings to the world, this trailer contains many new details, including a deeper look at the scene where Apocalypse blocks a punch from Charles Xavier at X-Mansion before becoming a giant. Another noticeable moment is the reunion between Beast and Mystique, when Hank tells Raven that Apocalypse has held Charles hostage and she needs to lead young students to embark on a rescue mission.
Therefore, we have clearly known the motives of Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) when all of a sudden she joins X-Men. Raven also tells the young mutants that: "You're not students anymore. You're X-Men!". This motif is like a repeat of X-Men: First Class, while Charles and Erik leads the young generation including Havok, Banshee, Beast and Mystique against Sebastian Shaw.
The two other characters the trailer focuses on are Nightcrawler and Angel. It seems like they are fighting in a cage before being interrupted by other X-Men. In addition, Quicksilver has officially confirmed that Magneto is his father, much to Mystique's surprise, and the appearance of Psylocke is set in a quick battle with Beast.
There are also some scenes revolving around the relationship between Erik and Charles. Professor begs his old friend not to become a Horseman of Apocalypse. In response, Erik says only: "Whatever did you think you saw in me, I buried it with my family." Obviously, it reminds us of the segment in X-Men: First Class where Charles saw a bright part of Erik memories, thereby helping Magneto discovering his abilities.
Last but not least, although his face is not clearly present, the most favourite character in the X-Men series, Wolverine, is back. When asked about his achievements of eliminating crime, Cyclops says "We had a little help". The helper is no other than Logan and his metal claws. The return of Logan will surely make the fans worldwide as excited as seeing Spider-Man in Civil War.
Directed by Bryan Singer,, with a screenplay by Simon Kinberg from a story conceived by Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, X-Men: Apocalypse features an ensemble cast starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn and Lucas Till. In X-Men: Apocalypse, ancient mutant Apocalypse awakens and plans to take over the world.
The movie is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016, in North America in 3D and 2D.
