What Makes Star Wars Create such a Huge Global Craze?

Before being officially released, Star wars: The Force Awakens already swept the world in anticipation. And what are the reasons?

For many American and European movie lovers, especially American ones, Star Wars is an integral part of their childhood. If you speak with a true fan, the first thing they tell you about Star Wars will be: The saga is a worldwide pop culture phenomenon. 

And in fact, after its release, it has had a significant impact in many fields. 

In the field of literature, many fiction novels are based on the plot of Star Wars such as Splinter of the Mind's Eye (1978, Alan Dean Foster). In the field of games, since 1982, over 120 video games have been published bearing the Star Wars name with many different styles such as space-flight simulators, first person shooter, role-playing, RTS, etc. Up to now, the best selling games are Lego Star Wars and Battlefront series with the revenue of $12 million and $10 million respectively. The recently released games are Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Lego Star Wars, The Clone Wars, etc.
In the field of tourism, in 1986, director George Lucas teamed up with Walt Disney to produce Star Tours, an amusement park simulator ride through the Star Wars galaxy which was present in all branches of Disney all over the world, except for Hong Kong Disneyland.

On March 23, 1983, President Reagan proposed the creation of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), an ambitious project that would construct a space-based anti-missile system. This program was immediately dubbed "Star Wars." According to Frances FitzGerald, Reagan was annoyed by this, but Assistant Secretary of Defense Richard Perle told colleagues that he "thought the name was not so bad."; "'Why not?' he said. 'It's a good movie. Besides, the good guys won.'"
