Ant-Man & the Wasp continues to collect talented actors for its cast!
Deadline reports Goggins has just joined the cast of Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man And The Wasp. Like so many other details about the production, aside from its equal billing, the Sons Of Anarchy alum’s role is being kept under wraps, but we can already picture him shooting while planning a heist with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Luis (Michael Peña). Then again, given his work on The Shield and the forthcoming Tomb Raider, Goggins could have a more dastardly edge in the sequel.
Paul Rudd is returning in the title role with Evangeline Lilly coming back as Hope van Dyne, aka the Wasp. Michael Douglas and Michael Pena are also expected to reprise their roles from the original. “Black Mirror” star Hannah John-Kamen and Randal Park have joined the ensemble as well.
Peyton Reed, who helmed the first movie, is back in the director’s chair with Rudd and Gabriel Ferrari penning the script. Kevin Feige is producing. With shooting scheduled to kick off soon in Atlanta, we may have to wait for more, but with Marvel bringing its usual big presentation this Saturday to San Diego Comic-Con's Hall H, you've got to guess that Reed and co. might let slip some details there. Ant-Man And The Wasp is due in the UK on 29 June next year before buzzing over to the States on 6 July.
It’s the latest big movie for Goggins, who will be on the big screen plenty in 2018. He stars opposite Alicia Vikander in the Tomb Raider reboot which bows March 16, and he just wrapped Maze Runner: The Death Cure, the third installment of the YA pic series, that bows February 9. He also recently shot Jon Avent’s The Three Christs Of Ypsilanti, was in Season 1 of History’s Six, and his HBO series with Danny McBride Vice Principals returns for Season 2 on September 17.
