Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese Might Reteam for Killers of the Flower Moon

Director Martin Scorsese and actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro are all reportedly ‘seriously considering’ a teaming on a film adaptation of New Yorker writer and “The Lost City of Z” author David Grann’s just released nonfiction novel “Killers of the Flower Moon”.

Deadline reports that no deals are in place with Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert DeNiro or Martin Scorsese, but all three parties are "seriously considering" taking on the project. Academy Award-winning screenwriter Eric Roth (“The Insider,” “Munich,” The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button”) wrote the script and the story was apparently purchased in a $5 million bidding war with several production companies. Imperative Entertainment partners Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas are producing. It isn't known what roles Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro are eyeing, or if they are only attached as producers at this time.

Described as a “twisting, haunting true-life murder mystery about one of the most monstrous crimes in American history,” Killers of the Flower Moon revolves around the members of the Osage Indian nation in Oklahoma who, at one point, were the richest people per capita in the world after oil was discovered beneath their land.

Then, one by one, the Osage began to be killed off under mysterious circumstances, as were those who dared to investigate the killings. As the death toll climbed above twenty-four, the FBI took up the case, one of the bureau’s first major homicide investigations – and bungled it.

In desperation, young bureau chief J. Edgar Hoover turned to a former Texas Ranger named Tom White to assemble an undercover team and unravel the mystery. They began to expose one of the most chilling conspiracies in American history.

Scorsese and DiCaprio have worked together multiple times before with Gangs of New York, The Aviator, Shutter Island, The Departed and The Wolf Of Wall Street. In addition, they are both developing The Devil In The White City, also based on a critically acclaimed book. De Niro and Scorsese, of course, have teamed on such films as Goodfellas, Casino, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, and The King Of Comedy.
