New 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' Poster Confirms Colin Firth's Return

This new poster for Kingsman: The Golden Circle gives us very little information about the plot; however, it does list the stellar cast the have assembled for the film.

It was perhaps the movie world's worst-kept secret, teased last year with a poster featuring the quote "Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated". Now it's official, written in solid gold ink: Colin Firth will be back for the Kingsman sequel, and earns top billing on the latest poster. The poster also lists the cast, a varied lineup including Julianne Moore as the new baddie, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, and Jeff Bridges as staff at the Statesman headquarters, and Elton John in there somewhere.

Kingsman: The Secret Service was a surprise hit for 20th Century Fox, and audiences everywhere fell in love with #MatthewVaughn’s brand of hyper-violence and top-notch dialogue. Kingsman also accomplished a near impossible feat, and made Colin Firth a certified action star. Firth’s character, Harry Hart, was one of the best parts of that film, but unfortunately, he met his end after the infamous church scene, in which he murders the standing population of the film’s equivalent of the Westboro Baptist Church. It makes perfect sense that #ColinFirth will return in the sequel, because he was the life-blood of Kingsman: The Secret Service. It's a fair wager that we will see Harry Hart alive in well in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, even if we don’t understand how they will pull it off yet.

Along with the new poster, the official synopsis was also released:

“Kingsman: The Secret Service” introduced the world to Kingsman – an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…”

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” picks up after the events of the 2015 film, with protagonist Eggsy having taken on the title of Galahad. Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters September 29.
