Warner Bros. Billed Ben Affleck For Stealing A Batarang from Justice League

Ben Affleck couldn’t resist taking a batarang prop from the set of “Justice League”… and Warner Bros. responded with a bill.

When you have the opportunity to play Batman in a movie, it is hard not to want to take home some souvenirs from the set. Ben Affleck did, and he had to pay for it, literally.

"They kept track of the Batmobile," Affleck said when asked by The Late Show host Stephen Colbert if he kept any of the "cool toys" Batman is known to use in his crime-fighting arsenal. "But there was some other stuff that fell off the truck, like the batarangs and stuff. I kept getting these phone calls from the prop department, like, ‘You sure you haven’t found any of that stuff yet?’"

The aforementioned “stuff” in question was a batarang, the bat-shaped throwing weapon used by the Caped Crusader. Affleck took one home from the set and said that the studio billed him for lifting the souvenir.

“You can’t exactly have been stealing if you got been billed for it, which is what happened to me,” Affleck laughed. “Turns out batarangs aren’t cheap!”

Ben Affleck is not the only member of the Justice League production who took props away from the set. While promoting the movie, Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa similarly spoke out about their time, on set and admitted that they had stolen props related to their respective characters. In the long run, it makes sense. Justice League is a historic moment in the annals of comic book movie history; it would be foolish not to take something away from the experience.

Here is the synopsis for Justice League:

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J.K. Simmons, Ciarán Hinds, Amber Heard, Joe Morton and Billy Crudup.
