In a few months, Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters, but its star had troubling hype the Marvel movie recently because he just couldn’t get over Wonder Woman.

Chris Hemsworth has a lot of reasons to love 2017's superhero movies. After all, he's close friends with Tom Holland and helped him land the role of Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War, while Thor is clearly going to share some key scenes with the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Infinity War. However, his favorite film of the year belongs to DCEU. MTV’s Josh Horowitz caught up with Marvel’s Thor star Chris Hemsworth at Comic-Con last weekend. Horowitz teased Hemsworth about another popular actor named Chris (Pine) who is having an amazing year, and asked if Thor: Ragnarok could help him become the top Chris.

“I have such love and admiration for all Chris’ on the planet and all superheroes, including Wonder Woman,” Hemsworth teased before getting serious. “I think that’s my favorite film this year. It’s incredible. They did such a good job.”

That said, Hemsworth doesn’t expect Pine or Wonder Woman to surpass Thor anytime soon. “Yeah, we’re gonna make more, but that’s OK,” he deadpanned. “It’s not a competition, it’s all love!”

Shortly after Wonder Woman debuted, Gal Gadot did an interview with Yahoo News, and the actress had this to say: “They ask me who would win, Wonder Woman or Thor. And I think it’s Wonder Woman. Don’t you, Chris?”

Unsurprisingly, Hemsworth felt the same. “I think she’d kick Thor’s a**,” the actor responded.

Obviously, Hemsworth is not the only person feeling a certain way about Wonder Woman. The DCEU flick has raked in nearly $390 domestically and pulled in a staggering $780 million abroad. The movie is the franchise’s most successful entry to date, and critics lavished Wonder Woman with well-deserved praise following its debut.

The enthusiasm for Wonder Woman gave Warner Bros. the confidence to fast track the sequel, which just secured a December 2019 release date. Time will tell what the story will entail, but the script is already being worked on and the rest of the pieces should fall into place in the near future. Whether the followup is set in the 1980s or takes place in the present day, there will be many lining up to see Diana’s adventures on the big screen, including Hemsworth.
