Rey, Finn, Poe, and BB-8 Set to Return After Star Wars 9

Sounds like Rey, Finn, Poe, and even little BB-8 will make it out of this latest saga alive.
"Star Wars: Episode IX" will mark the end of the current trilogy, but it won't be the last we'll see of its young heroes, Rey and Finn, or their companions Poe Dameron and BB-8. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy made an appearance on Wednesday’s episode of The Star Wars Show to discuss all the current projects in the Star Wars universe, movies, shows and even theme parks, as well as the future of the franchise.
If you’re a fan of all things Star Wars, the entire interview is worth a listen. Kennedy talks about the recently wrapped production of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the animated Rebels series and the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge theme park. But the final part of the discussion, regarding the Story Group, is the most intriguing.
"We're sitting down now, we're talking about the next 10 years of Star Wars stories, and we're looking at, narratively, where that might go. Future stories beyond Episode IX with these new characters: Rey, Poe, Finn, BB-8, but we're also looking at working with people that are interested in coming into the Star Wars world and taking us places we haven't been yet. That's exciting, too, because it's a vast galaxy far, far away."
There has been a rumor swirling around that the Star Wars trilogy movies are being put on hiatus in 2019, with the Skywalker saga being replaced by solely spin-off movies featuring individual characters. It sounds very possible that Rey will return ten years after the release of Star Wars 9 for a new trilogy, so that the franchise does not suffer from fatigue. Right now, it sounds like the sky is the limit as to where these characters and this series can go.
Rey and Finn will next appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which hits theaters December 15. The still untitled Star Wars: Episode IX is due out in theaters December 20, 2019.
