Tom Holland Wants To See Spider-Man and Hulk Join Force

Tom Holland reveals to MTV that he wants to be squashed like a bug by the Hulk.

While fans will no doubt have their own preferences as to who they would like to see Spider-Man get mixed up with first, Holland revealed during an interview with MTV that his personal choice for most wanted Spider-Man team-up is with the Hulk. Holland’s reasoning for this desire and ideas about what the mismatched pair could do together are as follows.

“I really like the idea of Spider-Man and Hulk. There’s a really amazing picture from the comics where Spider-Man is sitting on a lamppost staring at Hulk, and I think that could be a really – there’s so many jokes you can make about the big green guy, so I think that would be a lot of fun.

I think it would be quite interesting to see Hulk try and squash him like a bug, like a sort of big brother-little brother type fight situation rather than a proper fight, just to see them have it off with each other, it would be really fun.”

Given that Hulk is already getting his own team up film later this year in Thor: Ragnarok, it doesn’t seem likely that Marvel would give him another one, unfortunately. However, that being said, there’s no reason that he can’t share some scenes with Spidey in Avengers: Infinity War, and given their history in the comics, it would actually surprise us if he didn’t. As a combined fighting force though, Spider-Man and Hulk would certainly complement each other quite well, with Spidey’s speed and agility combined in tandem with Hulk’s explosive strength and power. Together, one imagines the duo could handle just about any threat.

Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly and Bokeem Woodbine, as well as Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Michael Chernus, Kenneth Choi, Hannibal Buress, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Angourie Rice and Abraham Attah. Here’s the official synopsis:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
