Guardians Of The Galaxy star Dave Bautista has revealed that he’s seriously hoping for a return to the 007 franchise after portraying villainous henchman Mr Hinx in Spectre.

The former wrestling star who has managed to transition into a pretty successful acting career is currently making the press rounds for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as he is returning as Drax for a second time. Speaking with Metro recently, Dave Bautista revealed that he definitely wants back in for the next installment of James Bond, but that isn't really up to him. Here is what he had to say.

“Believe me we’re talking about it a lot. We’re waiting at home with our fingers crossed.”

However, he thinks that a return is hinging on one thing, the widely speculated future of Daniel Craig as 007.

He said: “We’re waiting for the news to see if Daniel will sign up for Bond 25, because then there’s a chance that Hinx will come back.”

Earlier this month, it was reported that producer Barbara Broccoli has convinced Craig to star in another Bond movie, after they successfully worked together on an off-Broadway production of William Shakespeare's 'Othello'.

To which Bautista says, "I'm reading the rumours just like everyone else."

Craig, who has played James Bond in four films, had previously expressed a desire to hang his boots as the fictional spy. However, it was reported that the actor was still deciding to return, and apparently whether he will or not, at least Spectre writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are working on a newscript. Craig is said to be close to a decision, and by the looks of things, money is not an issue with the hold up since he’s reportedly been offered $150 million to play 007 in two more films.

While Bautista’s future as Hinx is uncertain, his adventures as Drax will continue into the foreseeable future, with Guardians Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, and Guardians Vol. 3 all on the horizon.

Guardians of the Galay Vol. 2 opens nationwide May 5th.
