Justice League Stars Promise Superman Fans Will Love The Movie

“Don’t worry, he’s still alive, OK? Don’t worry,” say Jason Momoa.

Justice League star Jason Momoa and his co-stars: Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher, were all together at the San Diego Convention Center over the weekend, to promote the film at the Warner Bros. panel and meet fans at the massive pop culture event. But, Cavill was not spotted among them. Fans were given a new Justice League trailer yesterday which highlighted Steppenwolf and other characters, but Superman was again nowhere to be seen. The Man of Steel fans are getting more worried since WB and DC have yet to confirm a Henry Cavill appearance in Justice League.

However, the cast Q&A at Comic-Con left some pretty obvious hints at what fans were all but sure of. Gal Gadot was more subtle in her response when she said, “We can’t say much, but if you’re a big fan of Superman, then I’m SURE you’re going to be very, very happy to watch Justice League.” while Jason Momoa spoke to the same young fan after the panel more candidly proclaiming “Superman is dead!”. One Instagram user compiled video from Variety and other sources in a mash-up to include both responses. In the video, the Aquaman actor can be heard saying, “Don’t worry, he’s still alive, OK? Don’t worry.”

Still, it is only a matter of time until Superman’s return is teased. The DC Extended Universe has gotten good at keeping character inclusions quiet. Wonder Woman went above and beyond to keep its first-look at Ares under-wraps until the heroine’s standalone hit theaters. Superman is a harder character to keep quiet, but the DC Films is clearly doing its best to keep the Kryptonian mum. For now, there is no telling how the Man of Steel may return or whether he will be on the Justice League’s side at first, but let's keep fingers crossed.

In the meantime, here is the synopsis for Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
